Thriving in Adolescence and Young Adulthood
For many young women between the ages of 10 and 25, the high number of expectations that have been piled on them in today’s world lead them to experience a great deal of stress.
They struggle to manage school, sports, friendships, family significant relationships, work, and figure out what they want to do and who they are going to be. It’s common for young women to feel sad, alone, anxious, confused, and unfocused.
As a result, they often develop unhealthy ways of dealing with these things such as poor sleep habits, not eating regularly or enough, isolating themselves from the ones they love, losing themselves in social media or other technology, unbalanced study habits and self-care habits, being disorganized, and finding themselves in toxic relationships.
Having a place to be able to speak with someone who they can trust where they can experience feeling understood and learning about themselves is incredibly helpful.
In the relationship that often develops between me and my young female clients, they see me more as a mentor or big sister. The work we do together aids them to blossom into who they are and where are they going in life.
